Training Day 2..Coconut pie and the captain

Ola..today was sooo much better than yesterday. I got to training early which gave me enough time to get a coffee and a breakfast wrap, and we had such a great trainer today. He was cute, gay, and soft spoken, but...did I mention cute? I mean, he was just adorable, plus I actually learned a thing or two..or three. Rocked a high bun today, and the room that we were in was freezing, so I was able to wear my blazer I had worn in. (oh yes, I wear my own clothes to work, and then change into the uniform...I cant be seen on transit in uniform..yikes!) Anyways. Sean and I were cracking up the entire time. Sean drew little food characters to symbolize every person in the room depending on their characteristics. I ended up being a long island iced tea, while one girl was a plate of spaghetti, and another boy was a bag of rice....it's a long story.I had about 3 coffees during the course of the day, which also kept me happy and finally got a picture with our infamous captain. We had lunch at Fast, fresh foods again having a roasted chicken breast sandwich and a mixed salad. I tell you, I have become obsessed with that place. I love the sandwiches!! Going...all the time. Don't know why I didn't take a picture, probably because I'm a pig. After training was finished, Sean and I headed over to Fran's just around the corner from the Eaton's Centre where I was craving something sweet. I indulged. I had the BEST..to DATE...coconut cream pie. Made with real cream.. RUN!, don't walk to Fran's and get it as soon as you can. It was absolutely delicious. I did not want it to end. Of course, in my usual fashion, I couldn't just have pie like that. I ordered it with a scoop of chocolate ice cream....Need I say more? No...I shan't. It was......everything. It is everything. I am making it a tradition. Going to Fran's? Coconut cream pie! Done! After Fran's, Sean and I gave bid adieu, and parted ways, but just as I was about to go down into Queen subway, I returned my friend David's phone call. He was literally up the street at the Canadian Tire picking out paint, and...well, 2 hours later was I on my way home. Spent the rest of the evening looking at cameras at Best Buy while waiting for his paint to shake. Haha. Home now, and on the bus over, didn't think I would have the energy to type this up, but I had to, and I wanted to. Off to bed now. Back in the office tomorrow. The weekend is almost here!! CANNOT WAIT to see my boyfriend !! Night dolls. xo

Back up Training bust

Training today was...a bit of a bore..I honestly don't know what would have become of me had Sean not been there to keep me partly sane with little jokes and little looks here and there that only he and I are able to understand. It started off a bit interesting with a rep from a company who had an upbeat personality, and his accent was happy and made me laugh but not in an obnoxious way, he took advantage of the way he spoke and used it to work the crowd. After that, we went through modules of how to set and achieve our goals and a whole bunch of shim sham about recognizing our own strengths and weaknesses. What would you say are your own personal strengths and weaknesses? I mean, this isn't an interview, and it isn't as if you have to think about what sounds right to who you would be admitting this to. In your own opinion, of your own personal self. What is your biggest weakness? Mine? I would have to say that I don't say the word NO enough. I am smart enough to know when I am in or about to be in a situation where I could and or WILL get taken advantage of, (for my kindness anyways) or when I will probably more than likely, be put in a position that I don't want to be in wasting my precious time and doing something I do NOT want to do. Be this as it may, in the workplace, or in my personal life, with friends, with family, I always want to be the "good guy" the "great girlfriend" the "sweet niece". NO. I swear, I am always the "good employee"who comes in for her shift even when I am throwing my guts up, just so I can cover a shift, so my co-worker wont feel overwhelmed.. while other employees would take sick days to sleep in! I cant be the only one. I'm working on it though, I have said "no" on more than one occasion to friends asking to go out to see a movie, go out to eat, random favors that put me out of my way. It's a slow process, and without being a complete bitch about it, I have and still am just learning how to get my priorities straight, and knowing when it is smart not only logically, socially, but also financially to go out on a whim and do things that may only end up benefiting others instead of myself. I'm uh..I'm just saying...

Anyways, the training day ended, and Sean and I were so hungry our stomachs were starting to eat it selves. Our group had been promised pizza, and.........we got nothing...the prophecy was not..fulfilled. So.Upset. My stomach was hurting, we had been sitting on our asses, yawning and listening to European, Asian, South American and Canadian tours schpeel for 3 hours, and when our time had finally run up, the training class next door had gotten pizza, not us.........Yeah. Really. Sean and I were fed up, and decided we would have to go get something quick to eat, and head home because we were exhausted, and not to mention..so desperately disappointed. We ended up sitting in the newly renovated food court at the Eaton's Centre (so gorge!, LOVE it!) for about an hour chatting and eating this really good but bad Indian food from the Amaya Express which I had never tried. Sean got the butter chicken poutine, and I, somehow, someway got talked into getting the Slum dog chili dog...LOL..what? It basically is a hot dog with chili, and cheese, served with fries. It is the most NON-INDIAN thing on the menu. How did this happen?? Anyways, after getting through half of it, because I had been so hungry, my stomach felt terrible because I had waited so long, so I didn't feel fulfilled either...such as the prophecy of the pizza...oh well. I'm home now, and just finished a glass of coke with ice which was oh so good. Should hit the hay now, since I need to be back at it in the morning. Night babes xo

I'll take 2 please !

Have you ever loved a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes so much, you wanted it in every color? Up until last week, I hadn't. Really...unless it was of course a Louis bag, or something unattainable where I am not in a position to spend so much on something I know, that obviously it would look amazing in different colors. This dress at H&M, however, I am so in love with. I had seen it after a training session downtown at Eaton's Centre in this pale dusty pink color. It's sheer and loose and beautiful, and I love the long sleeves with button detail, and the half gold zipper detail at the back. I tried it on, and knew it had to be belted. Although, if I was pregnant ( and no, I don't plan on being so nowhere in the near future) it actually wouldn't be bad either...although the lining on the top might not work if your breasts triple in size, so scratch that. I bought the black one first, because I had been putting off buying a simple yet pretty black dress for quite some time. I had also picked up this Egyptian-style leatherette gold plated necklace too which I loved and knew would look so good on this dress.

Wore the black dress to work one morning, even though I had to change into a uniform as soon as I got there, and it is just so flirty, and breezy and adorable. I wore it with this braided black belt also from H&M that I had picked up on a whim, and was so thankful I had it. I knew that I had to pick up that dusty pink one. I picked it up last night and paired it with this brown belt which mixes suede and leather textures, it looks like a rider's belt which I also really like. The 2 looked awesome! Sorry, no full pictures as of yet..but soon !

No Labour weekend

This long weekend wasn't that exciting for me, actually not exciting at all. I worked on Saturday, made no sales really, it was dead, and the walk-in's were minimal. I thankfully, was invited to my friend Sean's place for a get together that night. It consisted of me going to the Eaton's Centre after work since we closed at 5, and it was too early, I cruised around H&M, and since i had 2 $5 off cards I had gotten last month, and also because I have a serious shopping problem, I talked myself into buying a belt, a dress, and a pair of suedeish wedge boots that I really shouldn't have bought...honestly..Kareem flies down in less than a week, I spent a majority of my pay cheque on dental bills, and my own round-trip ticket down to new york at the end of the month (cant wait), and I should be spending this $50 on dinner out instead of these shoes that I wont wear out for at least 2 months but...they are just SO perfect for fall..

haha I picked up a bottle of wine and arrived at Sean's condo. I was waiting for the elevator with around 8 or 9 people with bottles of booze and food, and I knew no one, but they all knew each other. I just knew they were all heading up to Sean's as well, and I was right. It was a bit awkward at first when I had gotten in, introducing myself to everyone else, and other than Sean, I didn't have anything to go off of when it came to building a rapport.

Everyone was nice and funny, and shortly Juan Pablo who is a friend Sean introduced me too one night when we had gotten together at his place a few weeks ago, and when he saw me, we both had a sigh of relief. haha. He recently moved over to Canada from El Salvador, and is the cutest thing ever..no joke. I told him I knew no one either, and we started drinking heavily..The night went smoothly, and I ended up meeting alot of great people, a drinking game had commenced around 1:30AM, but since I had to catch the last train, I had to end it early :( Sean didn't mind...

Got home okay, and the wine had only hit me on the last bus home. I tell you..my tolerance is now very high, it impresses even me. I must have had 6 glasses of wine, a mixed drink, and some vodka and pink lemonade (so good..that might have been it, actually) and I didn't feel tipsy at all during my stay there. I could feel a slight head pounding when I was waiting for the elevator though. Oh well. Went to bed, Sunday rolled around, and I literally, woke up..had a bowl of cling stone peaches which I have recently become obsessed with, and went back to sleep. Sunday is usually my cleaning day, but since I have Monday off, I put it off. It is not Monday, and I have watched 3 episodes of Family Guy, and just thought I should get my blogging on. Tomorrow and Wednesday I have back up training at head office and am quite happy about it just because I wont have too many targets on my mind, and I get to see Sean, and some of the people that I trained with. Well I am sure many of you had much more exciting weekends than I have, until the next post. xo
